More Workparties!

We never cease to be amazed at the generousity and community spirit of the people of Swindon!

Thanks to the efforts of Jo Banks and Tony Martin from Involve (www.involveswindon.co.uk), ie: part of the Swindon Volunteer Service, we have volunteers from Network Rail and Intel pledged for 'work party' days to help us too! Working alongside our Innerflame youngsters, and some of our 14-16yr old students next week, apart for an excellent 'skills share' opportunity for all involved, we are so excited that their combined efforts will mean a huge community based effort to make what will be an amazing difference to the project which should help us make up for lost time. Sadly, we were faced with extensive damage to the building, particulalry internally, plus some pretty major renovation work to do before we could get started (an old chimney had to be made safe, a roof replaced and gas, water and electric pipes and wires had to be replaced just so that we could get essential services reconnected). Time is ticking on and we are desperate to get the building prepared for the new academic year so we are really grateful for every little bit of help being offered. Ideally we want to try and launch the community events and get the community cafe up and running as soon as we have achieved Ofsted approval for our new Independent school for children with special needs... a tough objective but with the community support still flooding in, we are more than up for it!! :)

Support us... share us!
